Dane Hamblin is an oil and watercolor painter who enjoys the challenges of intensely realistic painting. The common thread that runs through all of Dane's paintings is the idea of discovering beauty in the mundane. He promotes the concept that every level of our environment is worthy of careful examination.
Many of Dane's paintings deal with urban surrounding that make up nearly everyone's human experience. After extensive travels in the Middle-East and Europe he has begun painting scenes that don't focus on the cultural and historical differences between our countries, but instead concentrate on the similarities between our environments and experiences while living our daily lives. In these paintings Dane is creating a visual atmosphere of scenes that are both foreign yet familiar. Many of his paintings contain solitary figures that convey a sense of individual isolation, yet are easy to relate with. All of us have had experiences associated with being in an urban environment surrounded by people, yet completely alone with our own thoughts.
Dane has a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree specializing in painting from Arizona State University.
